We are proud to announce the NoveNove Maui Aloha Classic 2016 as the ultimate conclusion and final leg of the 2016 PWA World Tour to crown the overall wave world champion at the iconic Ho’okipa Beach Park in Maui, Hawaii. This event has always been the most respected and sought after international windsurfing event in the world and this year’s spectacle takes place from October 31st October until November 13th. Riders will be travelling from all over the world to compete and spectators can be connected online watching the live streaming anytime day or night no matter what the time difference or location, the beauty of the modern Internet age!
By sponsoring the NoveNove Maui Aloha Classic we not only believe in giving our contribution and commitment for promoting our own brand, but we also want to give back to the sport itself by supporting the wave tour in order for the best riders on the planet to be challenging the biggest waves and best conditions Ho’okipa can offer.
Kauli Seadi, our top wave rider and an important ambassador for our 99NoveNove brand will be back with his full motivation to fight for that title that he just missed out on with his second place last year. The Brazilian legend (3 times wave world champion) has been for years at the forefront of the development of the wave board movement, often being a trend-setter and leader for new styles of boards and definitely carving his own unique brand of wave sailing throughout the globe. After a concerted and dedicated development program during the past 18-months, Kauli has once again delivered by developing his own unique wave board for our brand, the ’99NoveNove KS Model’.
The KS Model has proven itself throughout several respected magazine tests to be a revolutionary wave shape adapted for a complete and comprehensive variety of conditions and styles that caters to all wave-riding levels with a focus on end user performance.
Our other international wave riders, Amanda Beneen and Marc Parè, will also be participating in the event. We look forward to watching them perform on the water along with all the best men and women wave sailors in the world!
The 2016 NoveNove Maui Aloha Classic will celebrate 30 years since the first cheeseroll (first ever front rotation in windsurfing), which was invented by Cesare Cantagalli I-99 (NoveNove). This radical move for its’ time was first performed during this event back in 1986. For this occasion NoveNove will be putting forward a special prize for the best ‘cheeseroll’ performed during a separate expression session.

I must say doing the first cheeseroll was for sure the biggest success in my career and I feel lucky to be amongst the biggest names in the history of windsurfing.
The Aloha Classic in 1986 was for me, and many others, the beginning of a new time. I am happy to see that the ‘cheeseroll’ opened new frontiers to aeriel moves in the waves, and also flat water ‘freestyle’, which has continuously evolved every year.
There could not have been a better opportunity for me to celebrate this achievement during the same event, at the same place and time as 30-years ago, and also having the honour of my company being the event title sponsor for the NoveNove Maui Aloha Classic, just fantastic!
I don’t want this to be where my dreams end, because I have a lot more to do and NoveNove still has a lot of things to share, but a big thanks to everyone who have made it possible and they know who they are.
