Avon Beach Windsurf Festival – “Some details about this weekend event. Pro registration 8pm Thursday at Sandhills Caravan park. (if light winds, we will carry on Friday morning on the beach for those who cannot make it). First possible start at present 9.30am (subject to change) All other fleets registration Friday evening 8pm Sandhills. Online pre entry closes at 7pm Friday. Whilst we are maybe optimistically hoping that the forecast comes back, we suggest bringing a freestyle board or a bigger board if you have one and if the waves don’t materialise then we will run a freestyle/freewave elimination. If there are waves and not enough wind then we will run an SUP surf competition, so make sure you come prepared.

With the sandbar and a WNW it also possible to get very down the line wave riding in, but you will need a floaty board to get to the wind line.”
