BLAKENEY
Blakeney is an excellent area for beginners, mainly due to a two mile sheltered stretch of water. However, a bit of skill may be required to launch, as there is a difficult right angle creek before you can get to the sheltered water and some beginners may have problems with this. As the area is tidal, it’s only possible to sail three hours either side of high water. In NW you will find that it’s difficult to sail out but getting back is easy, while in SW the exact opposite is true. Problems aside, this location is great if you are a beginner as the sheltered stretch of water is perfect for learning.
