CANVEY ISLAND
Canvey Island is one of the most underrated sailing areas in Britain. When the wind is against the tide, the short waves are perfect for jumping. However, this location is not recommended for beginners as the strong tides and deep water can get an inexperienced sailor into difficulty. The shipping lanes can create problems as they have to be crossed quickly and at right angles so beginners should stay away.
