CLIMPING SANDS
Climping Sands is a long pebble and sand beach stretching for over two miles. At high tide good windsurfers can sail up to Littlehampton and play in the waves on the sand bar there. Best in SW and also good in S and NE which accelerates off the land. The current here runs E-W constantly which, in prevailing winds, promotes earlier planing than anywhere else in this area but in E winds it slows you down. The beach at low tide shelves gently and is suitable for beginners.
