With high cliffs behind the bay any offshore winds are gusty at Filey Bay and sailing becomes very difficult in these conditions. However, there is a windsurfing school and in North East conditions this location is ideal for beginners, as the winds are cross onshore and a rescue boat is available in case people have difficulties.


Getting there: From Scarborough take the A165 into Filey, follow the signs to the beach

Parking: Plenty of parking in the club but you have to be a member

Ideal Wind: NE
