The large sandy beach at Fleetwood provides different sailing conditions depending on the state of the tide, though it is possible to sail all day. High tide and offshore winds can create fairly big waves, which are excellent for more experienced wave sailors. At low tide, a small channel is the only water in the bay and the flat water is excellent for speed sailing or learning.
