FORMBY BANK
This large sandy beach is one of the cleanest in the area and is perfect for a family day out. There is a fairly small tidal range at Formby Bank but high tide brings many perils, and very strong currents can drag novice sailors out to sea. The sailing conditions are mainly bump and jump and the water can be fairly choppy with strong SW winds. This is definitely not a good location for beginners.
