HAYLING ISLAND – WEST TOWN
Hayling Island – West Town is another popular venue and perfect in SW winds. The top part of the beach is shingle and the groynes coupled with a noticeable shore break can make launching difficult at high tide. At all other times when the sand is exposed it’s a sailing area with a wide variety of conditions. For waves in SW sail upwind to the sand banks which start working at mid to low tide. There’s a large pay and display car park but windsurfers should park at the far W. Andy Biggs Windsurfing is the local shop (Tel: 02392 467755).
