HELENSBURGH
The sandy beach south of the town of Helensburgh faces almost directly W giving access to the Firth of Clyde. This is one of the wider stretches of this sailing area and is a popular area for dinghies and yachts. Ardmore Point, the Sea Front and Rhu Narrows are all popular areas. In N. winds there is a venturi effect down the Gareloch bringing stronger winds than elsewhere.
