LITTLESTONE-ON-SEA
East facing Romney sands stretch from Dungeness to Dymchurch. Most of the land behind the beaches, Romney Marsh, is lower than the high tide mark and this makes for good winds in directions that would otherwise be blocked. Sea breezes too are enhanced. Littlestone faces due E and the best wind direction are either an S or N when it’s side shore. It also works well in a NE. Check the tide tables before sailing here, as at low tide it’s a long walk to the water. The pay and display car park is next to the lifeboat station and Varne Boat Club.
