Newport Sands – Parrog Beach. This large horseshoe bay provides generally small waves and so is ideal for beginners. At Parrog Beach, it is only possible to sail at high tide and the water is usually flat and shallow but the currents can be strong so make sure you can touch the bottom if you are a beginner. This location is also good for speed sailors as there is a large amount of flat water and it hardly ever gets crowded on the water.
