An estuary beach providing a sheltered spot for beginners, but also good for intermediates in S and NE winds. The tidal range is quite small and the currents in the estuary quite small. The estuary is a haven for all sorts of craft and gets busy at times. A more sheltered spot for beginners is up river of Salcombe itself. The launch point is the slipway.
