Scotstown lies at the middle of five miles of sandy beach with only one other access point at Peterhead, two miles S. The beach faces E, although the Peterhead end is screened by the town, and the wind close to shore can be gusty in anything but N to E winds. Scotstown is in the middle of nowhere and apart from a parking area the amenities are non existent.
