The pier and steep beach create a very difficult sailing environment for beginners. Also, the only wind direction that really works with this beach is NW and E. Runton is a far better sail because there aren’t as many obstacles in the water. Sheringham is mainly a surfing beach so if the conditions are right then respect the surfers or go to East Runton. This beach is definitely not recommended for beginners due to the currents and obstacles in the water.
