TURNBERRY
Turnberry, long established as one of the top links golf courses in the country, has also been a top spot for windsurfers for several years. Its curving silver sands stretch for one and a half miles offering good launching at most points of the tide. At high tide though, the beach break can become tricky. The sand bars off the beach hold the waves up nicely, making for good first time wave sailing conditions except in very strong W winds. Low to mid tide SE – SW, S or S – SE cross. Good waves, fairly close together. Sand and pebble beach with some rocks to the North and South.
