Whitesands Bay is a small, enclosed bay and is very popular with surfers and canoeists and can be quite crowded. The best winds are S and SW, which can create excellent wave sailing conditions and “zoning of activities” during the summer months means that you should have plenty of space. However, there is a strong rip tide so this beach is not for beginners.
