The sand bar reef just offshore at Winterton-on-Sea creates good wave sailing conditions and this combined with the right wind direction makes a great days sailing. There are strong tides though, and this is one of the only beaches in this area that has warnings about the number of people who have drowned in the strong currents. Not suitable for beginners or intermediate sailors.
