We hand it over over to the Queen of freestyle and 2019 PWA women’s wave champion, Sarah Quita Offringa, to talk through us the top five items on her Bucket List!

Waves you would like to sail.

SQ: My main goal in windsurfing right now is improving in the waves. But I don’t necessarily have the desire to sail really big waves. I just want to ride waves that are fun to shred. I think fun size and challenging in that sense for me would be the waves in Cabo Verde. Would love to go there also for the culture and especially the music. Their local language is super similar to Papiamento in Aruba, and I think there are even good freestyle spots around.

Moves you would like to nail?

SQ: There’s so many moves I still want to learn. In freestyle it’s just a lot of combination moves that I would like to learn. But the ones I’m dying to do, are the ones I’m scared of. In freestyle that would be a shifty. In wave sailing I would like to come around double forwards and push forwards. And maybe hitting lips of bigger waves.

Sporting achievements on the list?

SQ: I think one of the biggest goals I have is to be a better regular surfer. I would ‘LOVE’ To spend time in barrels and check the view from inside a hollow wave. That would be so epic! I think generally I would just like to be good at different sports. Kiters that go high up in the air and still send their kite in a kite loop. Skateboarders in big bowls and halfpipes. I’d love to experience that type of rush, but that last one might be a bit too much wishful thinking.

Personal crazy things you would like to do?

SQ: I used to be very scared of flying, I’m over it now. But the thought of jumping out of a plane will forever seem madness to me. So, I guess skydiving is the thing I need to conquer! Other than that, I’d love to travel the Caribbean by sailboat, or cross the Atlantic and then cruise the Caribbean not, crazy, but definitely something I’d love to do.
