Maciek Rutkowski just released a new video with his first time foiling, (the first ever windsurfing hydrofoil session in Poland. 17.08.2016) telling us – “I might not have chosen the easiest conditions as it was around 12-15 knots and choppy and I was fully overpowered on my 7.9. Also the little waves don’t make it any easier specially when you’re trying to launch from the beach and you need to get that 1metre long foil in the water. But overall it was super fun and once I got a hold of it I could feel that the potential is huge. There’s almost no resistance! So if you can keep it stable and sheet in, it feel like theres really no speed limit. Getting back to my slalom gear after that felt really heavy, like the board was pushing a lot of water haha! Anyway, I can’t wait to get back on the foil and super excited with all the possibilities that opens up – the fun in light wind, the development of special gear and the possible competitive aspect – a lot of talk about that in terms of maybe new PWA discipline or maybe a new olympic class etc. Exciting times ahead of us in windsurfing. “
