IRELAND WINDSURFING TRIP: DIETER VAN DER EYKEN

Dieter Van Der Eyken has just released this short clips of highlights from his Autumn trip to Ireland at the end of last year.

He says “Quick short clip of a three week trip to Ireland last Autumn. Ireland has been on my to do list for many years and with the cancelation of the world cup in Sylt the perfect window opened to take the boat and explore new beaches by the van. It wasn’t the most successful trip in terms of conditions but there where a few golden sessions, happy to have met some windsurfing friends on the way who managed to capture some of the moments on tape to produce this short clip. The footage is filmed on Fanore beach (side off shore in SE) near Galway & Magheroarty in the NW of Ireland (West South West winds) also known for the Red Bull Storm Chase. It’s a shame both spots only worked ones during the trip making it a bit harder to figure out the wave and the tides, but being able to sail side off conditions nearly every day on different spots around made it a trip to remember! I will definitely be back & hope to sail a few other spots that are still on my bucket list!
