28 September – 05 October 2016 at the famous windsurfing venue of Sotavento, Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands. Ideal for intermediates to advanced level windsurfers to practice in a variety of different conditions and staying in the centre of Costa Calma – perfect for non-windsurfers!
Simon Bornhoft is one of the world’s leading coaches and has written the national windsurfing coaching system, contributed to hundreds of magazines around the world and was also part of the BBC commentary team for the Windsurfing at the LONDON 2012 Olympic Games. Simon will be with you throughout the whole week in Fuerteventura to make this a truly memorable windsurfing experience. 
Course details
The course takes place on the famous Sotavento lagoon at the southern end with a mix of super flat water, lagoon and speed strip and well equipped centre on the spot. During the week you’ll get tuition on early planing, fast skills for faster blasting, stance range, quick short board tacks, higher winds control, fast tacks, faster gybing, duck gybing and more – such as 360s or feasible freestyle. “Plus we will have a whole bunch of fun expression sessions to move your sailing along. As ever using our core WINDWISE skills training to get the body to do what you mind is telling it. If we get the chance, we’ll do some speed runs too!” says Simon.

The coaching is broken down using specific WINDWISE skills training exercises and drills to focus on your particular aspirations. Using effective demos, land and water exercises, professional digital video and the very best in coaching, you’ll get all the encouragement and assistance you need to ensure you improve. After a full day of coaching, there will be optional socials, adventures and local excursions to check out some special places on this popular Canarian island.

Typical Course Level
Intermediate – Advanced
This WINDWISE windsurfing holiday and clinic is for intermediate to advanced windsurfers looking to move their short board windsurfing to another level. Whether that is moving onto even smaller boards, blasting faster in more control or really wanting to speed up those turns. To get the most out of the course we recommend you are able to waterstart on a sub 140L board.

Course & Holiday Content
During the week you’ll cover super early planing, sailing at higher speeds, stance range, quick short board tacks, gybe variations, duck gybes plus 360’s and other skills freestyle should you wish. Location Details
Being based in huge flat water bay of Sotavento at the ION-club centre on Risco del Paso Beach at the quieter southern end of the famous Sotavento lagoon, this windsurfing clinic is ideal for perfecting windsurfing on smaller boards, sailing faster in more control or really wanting to speed up those turns, ‘Fuerta’ is an exciting and easy place to place to sail. The flat water is similar to Egypt, but with slightly more variation in conditions and water state.

With a huge lagoon at high spring tides or flat water blasting behind the sand bar, it’s a great place to get inspired, try new moves and give your windsurfing a real boost. Winds are mainly cross offshore which produce a speed strip so you can attempt some personal best times!
