Windsurfing is all about style. Getting your wetsuit the right way round on day one, through to tweaked one handed forward loops! It gives you an adrenaline rush right from the start & is a sport that there is always another manoeuvre to learn. If you love a challenge then maybe windsurfing is for you.
Windsurfing is also a perfect stepping stone to the balance required for surfing and the wind awareness needed for kite surfing.
It’s never been easier to learn to windsurf. Here at Loch Insh we have a huge selection of the most up to date equipment that’s perfect for all levels and ages. These include the Hyfly primo the perfect beginner board, of which we have 24. Moving up from that as you learn to use the footstraps and harnesses we have a range of boards from Hyfly Mambo’s, Matrix’s, Magnum’s and Max’s some with and some without centre boards. As you really start to improve and are looking to go round the corners and take off faster we have a range of carbon boards again from Hyfly in the Move and the Madd toboards by Exocet and Kona.
You will also need a rig and we have a fantastic selection of rigs from 2.2 m2 right up to 8.8m2. These range from Gaastra Mavericks to Nautex Moves to Neil Pryde Expressions, Jets, Cores, Zones, and some sails from North too. At any one time we have around 40 sails rigged and ready to go. Normally two or three of each size apart from the kids size 2.5m2 where we always have 24 rigged for groups.
A one hour private lesson is all you need, maybe with an hour’s hire straight after to practice.
If you have the time then why not join one of our comprehensive courses which range from 1,2,3,4,5 days in length. Whatever your ability from beginner through to advanced manoeuvres, we can help you progress through the RYA syllabus.
