GREEK ISLANDS

Best for Wind | Multi Sport | Coaching.
As Greek island specialists, Sportif offer over 14 resorts including Naxos, which is new for 2019. For freestyle head to Crete or Sigri in Lesvos. For high wind, Karpathos has 3 bays and slalom/freeride conditions, plus yoga, climbing and MTB bike centres. Families love Samos, Kos and Rhodes with a choice of apartments, beachside and luxury hotels. Lemnos and Sardinia have kids windsurf and watersports based activity camps for 4 age years and up. For uncrowded sailing, Mykonos has boutique hotels right on the beach. For luxury spa hotels, Cyprus is ideal. Sportif pro-coaching clinics with Peter Hart or Jem Hall are in Rhodes each June.

SPAIN

Best for Families | Wind Foiling | Beaches.
The Rosas windsurf spot, on the Costa Brava, is set on a 5 km beach with a range of conditions from flat water to chop and swell from May to October. The centre specialises in wind foil and SUP taster or intensive courses. Locally you can explore the cycle routes, enjoy wine tasting, some Spanish tapas or visit the Dali museum. Tarifa, on the stunning southern coast, has long been known as the wind capital of Europe, with advanced conditions from spring to autumn. Work on your advanced skills with a Sportif pro-coaching clinic with Tom Brendt in Tarifa this May.

TURKEY

Best for Families | Beginners | Intermediates | Flat water.
Former PWA world cup destination, Alacati, is suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced, slalom and freestyle. The season starts in May with warm, sunny conditions through to October. The centre offers kids windsurfing camps and supervision, with a restaurant right on the spot. New hotels for 2019 include the 4* Seya beach resort with spa complex and kids club and small boutique hotels. Off the water there is tennis, yoga, pilates, fitness, plus nearby markets in old Alacati town and historic sites to explore. SARDINIA, ITALY

Best for families and couples.
White sandy beaches and crystal clear waters make Sardinia almost as beautiful as the Caribbean. Located only a two hour flight away from the UK, it is the perfect destination for a windsurfing holiday with the entire family. Porto Pollo, the windiest point in Sardinia, is home to a fantastic bay on the north coast. The spot is located a short drive away from amazing four and five star resort offerings for couples and families, while the beach offers shelter for anyone wanting to soak up some sun while checking out the action. Perfect for beginners or more advanced windsurfers, Sardinia has something for everyone! As Sardinia can be busy with Italian holiday makers in July and August, the time when good value combines with the best wind is in May or June and again in September.

RHODES, GREECE

Best for a range of skill levels.
A great place for a short haul windsurf holiday, Rhodes offers a variety of spots and very reliable winds during the summer months. As the second largest of the Greek islands, Rhodes has long been a very popular summer sun holiday destination with Northern Europeans, so there are lots of flights from many regional airports. Although a little ‘bucket & spade’ in places, there are a few good quality hotels within easy reach of the windsurfing. With good flat water sections as well as small waves, Rhodes is a good destination for windsurfers of all skill levels. The main windsurfing centre here is superb and is well stocked with the latest gear, including foils. There is an additional centre, specifically for beginners, which is also very good.

LIMNOS ISLAND, GREECE

Best for summer away from the crowds.
Keros Bay offers flat water, chop and small waves all on one spot! With fantastic wind and warm conditions during the summer months, it is a great holiday spot set in an unspoiled environment away from the mass tourism of other Greek islands. With beautiful beaches and traditional villages you can chill out in the evenings with the locals, enjoying the warm ambience of Greek taverns serving delicious traditional cuisine. Planet offer stunning one bedroom chalets on the beach, a short walk to the windsurf centre. Daily flights to Limnos take just 4-5 hours from most major European cities including a connection via Athens.
