RYA DINGHY AND WATERSPORTS SHOW 2022
The RYA tell us about their new watersports show which will be at the Farnborough International Exhibition Centre, on the 26-27th, February 2022!
“Bringing some warmth to the depth of February, fans of being on the water, won’t want to miss the RYA Dinghy & Watersports Show (26 – 27 February 2022) sponsored by Suzuki, which is heading to Farnborough International Exhibition Centre for the first time this winter. Alongside the much-loved dinghy sailing exhibits, this year the show is expanding to also showcase windsurfing, wing surfing & foiling, paddleboarding, kayaking and more!
With hands-on ‘have a go’ experiences, demos from legends, world-class talks and exhibitors with everything you need to get afloat, it’s the perfect place to get prepared for your 2022 on the water!
All about watersports
The brand new ‘watersports zone’ will be home to the sport’s most respected personalities, with top tips to help you improve, whether you want to go faster, further or try something new!
Don’t miss demonstrations on rigging, guidance on foiling (what foils to use and when) and advice on winging, including how to get started, all hosted on the ‘Watersports Stage’ by windsurfing legend Peter Hart.
You’ll also find kit and gear for all ages from the industry’s biggest brands, as well as experts on hand throughout the weekend to answer any of your questions from making the right paddleboard purchase to improving your foiling techniques.
Speaking of the show, RYA Show and Promotions Manager Celia Edgington said, “For many of us our time afloat has been extra valuable over the past two years, so we’re really excited to be able to once again dedicate a live show to having a good time on the water, whether dinghy cruising, racing, windsurfing, paddleboarding, or any of the other ways you can get afloat.”
Discover new adventures
If you and your family love messing about on the water and being active outdoors, the show promises to be a great day out with plenty to inspire and entertain all ages, including windsurfing, sailing and winging simulators, an activity pool and plenty of competitions. Best of all, kids go FREE all weekend!
Do you know a youngster who has set their sights on becoming a future windsurfing medallist? The show is the place to be if you want to rub shoulders with members of the British Sailing Team and other windsurfing heroes. Head to ‘Sailors Corner’ to chill out with Q and A sessions, take part in athlete’s challenges and attend the autograph signings to capture your ‘insta moment’.
Younger visitors can explore the show with the famous ‘Dinghy Show’ Treasure Hunt, hunting and collecting clues and stamps to win some amazing prizes.
And the rest…
Along with the new additions, the 2022 Show will be full to the brim with much-loved dinghy and watersports displays and exhibitors including clothing brands, clubs & centres, holiday companies, training centres plus class associations & boat builders with a whole range of dinghies.
World class speakers, coaches and medallists will provide expert advice on the Suzuki Main Stage and Knowledge Zone hosted by professional sailor Hannah Diamond and instructor and presenter Lee Timothy.
You can also take part in the live workshops and coaching sessions before relaxing with a pint and catching up with old friends in ‘The Clubhouse’, which you’ll find in the heart of the show.
“The new venue and growth in participation of all watersports has presented us with an opportunity to bring the industry together to offer an even bigger show, with more adventures and activities for the cost of a ticket,” Celia explains, adding, “As well as more space, the new location also offers good transport connections, plenty of free onsite parking and reasonably priced local accommodation options for visitors and exhibitors. We hope to see you there!”.
