The Downings windsurfing event in County Donegal, NW Ireland is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, with organiser and past winner, Nick Fletcher, at the helm for every one. A mix of family fun and racing, including their legendary kids races, the fixture has long been a favourite in the Irish windsurfing calendar and is set this year for the 16 and 17th of July. The event is an Irish Windsurfing Association ranked slalom event and entries are set to open Monday 27 June on downingswindsurfing.com and you should get an immediate confirmation if you have entered successfully. All proceeds go the RNLI and Nick tells us, “Racing is slalom (fin or foil), SUP racing and wing foil racing. It is also the Irish national youth windsurfing championships. Winners in Downings will be crowned Irish Champions 2022, with under 3, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15 and 18 girls and boys. We are using our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/DowningsWindsurfingEvent as the main comms route. For queries, best to contact me by email, nicolasfletcher88 at hotmail.com or WhatsApp +44 7833 436834″
