OVERVIEW
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from observing the wing market in the past year, it’s that innovation is unrelenting, with remarkable advancements making each season more exhilarating than the last. There has been a multitude of improvements in a variety of different areas, from the materials used, to innovative stitching techniques, and a variety of handle/boom designs. The sport of winging itself has taken on some immense momentum, making the arena of wind sports come alive once more. This excitement is bringing experts from a variety of sports, from surfing, kiting, windsurfing, and other foiling sports, into one arena, making it a breeding ground for new and exciting innovation. So let’s get straight into the heart of the matter with a review of some of the most anticipated freeride wings for 2023. Buckle up as we cruise through the innovative design concepts.
SUMMARY
The GA Poison, with its feather-light build and eye-catching design, has impressive balance and is an accessible wing that also performs at a high level. The Slingshot Javelin is a boomed wing with a streamlined design and meticulously calculated aerodynamics to cater to those with a need for velocity, making it a true contender on the racecourse. The FreeWing AIR V3 is easy to use and a strong all-rounder, making it a great choice for both novices and advanced riders. The Duotone Slick is renowned for its universal appeal, manoeuvrability and adaptability. With its boom and tight canopy, this wing packs a punch with insane release. The SIC Maui Raptor is a testament to power and precision. This wing boasts a low-aspect ratio, delivering rapid acceleration and tight, controlled turns.
The AFS Diamond is a gem of design innovation. Its innovative Tri Radial Cut technique optimises panel layout, enhancing the wing’s durability and offering better control and shape over time.
The Aztron AIM has an interesting flex design and stiff handles. It also comes at an impressive price point, making it a much more accessible option.

The Ensis Score presents an unmatched blend of power and stability. It shines with its unique elongated handles, guaranteeing a direct feel and response. The Simmer, with its low-aspect design and soft feel, provides an enjoyable and unique riding experience. Lastly, the Ozone Flux showcases its strength in its immense range. An extremely standout wing, the Flux has some innovative design features that translate into an impressive performance.
