This rocky beach has very strong rip currents because it is situated next to the mouth of the river Severn. Best winds are SW and these offer fairly good slalom conditions. The restricted access makes this an unpopular beach and it is definitely not recommended for beginners.

Getting there: From Pilning, take the road that runs alongside the M4 and then follow the signs for the beach where the access is at the N end

Parking: In a field near the beach

Ideal Wind: SW

Accommodation: Hotels and B&B’s Portishead

Amenities: None

Suitable for: Experienced only
