MELTEMI WINDSURFING
KARPATHOS, GREECE.

THE LOW DOWN:

Karpathos is one of the windiest places in Europe. The island offers empty beaches and a very authentic vibe, even in the high season. The non-stop Meltemi wind blows all day every day in summer and the Meltemi center with two stations offers perfect conditions for all levels.

CONDITIONS AND WHEN TO GO:

Meltemi Windsurfing Karpathos is open from the middle of May until the end of September; the Meltemi wind is the most reliable from June until the end of September. The wind blows all day from the morning till the evening. Water temperature is ideal for board shorts, sometimes a shorty wetsuit.

LOCAL SPOTS:

Devil’s Bay offers flat water to bump-and-jump conditions. It is necessary to be able to waterstart and stay upwind when windsurfing in Devil’s Bay.
Chicken Bay is a protected bay with flat and shallow water that offers the best conditions for beginners and intermediate windsurfers. The stations are 2 km apart.

ABOUT THE CENTRE:

Meltemi Windsurfing Karpathos offers equipment rental, storage, and lessons for all levels. Both stations are equipped with the newest equipment from Tabou, Gaastra, Fanatic, Duotone, and Goya. Both stations are located directly at the beach with completely renewed facilities (changing rooms, showers and chillout areas). Our team is always ready to help you choose the right equipment.

WHERE TO STAY:
We can help you arrange accommodation in the area, either within walking distance or a short drive. Wonder Wings Villas, Punta Mare Sofia Studios, Thalassa Suites, Hotel Poseidon, and others.
